UNANU Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“UNANU”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the UNANU Freight Marketplace platform available at https://uturbo.unanu.com and as an Android application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).

1. Information we collect

2. How we use your information

Operate the freight marketplace — matching shippers with transporters, running bid auctions, issuing invoices.
Authenticate you via phone or email OTP and maintain session security.
Send transactional notifications over WhatsApp, email, SMS and in-app alerts about loads, bids, trips, payments, and document approvals.
Comply with Indian tax, GST, and TDS regulations.
Investigate fraud, abuse, and platform security incidents.

3. Location data

With your explicit permission, we collect your device’s approximate location while you use the app. This is used solely to rank loads by proximity and to record trip events if you start a tracked trip. Location is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for profiling. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.

4. Sharing of information

We share data only with these categories of recipients, and only to the extent necessary:

Counterparties in a transaction — a shipper sees contact details of the transporter they award a load to, and vice versa.
Infrastructure providers — Amazon Web Services (hosting), Meta / Gupshup (WhatsApp Business), email delivery services, SMS gateways.
Regulators — when compelled by law, court order, or lawful tax authority request.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data retention

We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account is active, plus up to seven (7) years thereafter for tax and audit compliance under Indian law. Diagnostic logs are retained for 90 days.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. You may:

Update profile details from within the app.
Request account deletion at https://uturbo.unanu.com/delete-account or by emailing support@unanu.com — we will respond within 30 days.
Withdraw consent for location tracking at any time in device settings.

7. Security

We protect data in transit with TLS 1.3 (HTTPS) and at rest with industry-standard encryption. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Access to production systems is restricted and audited. No system is perfectly secure — in the event of a breach that materially affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authority promptly.

8. Children’s privacy

The platform is intended for businesses and individuals over the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover such data we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app and by email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
